Since it opened its doors in Rustenburg in 2007, The Platinum Incubator has mentored and assisted 135 talented young people from previously-disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their dream of becoming jewellery designers and manufacturers.

We do this by facilitating access to materials, equipment and machinery, and by providing a support network for budding entrepreneurs. We have also partnered with the National Skills Development Strategy and contributed to the development of Sector Skills by partnering with the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA) Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). Our aim is to attract the brightest and most creative young minds from all over South Africa and inspire them to be platinum pioneers in an era of innovation that extends far beyond the design of jewellery.
